DIVERSIFY YOUR LIST OF MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS

Some people often fancy the words of one specific motivational speaker and live their lives and/or business by following what that person says. This message is not intended to discourage people from listening to any specific motivational speaker, but rather to encourage anyone to diversify who they listen to so that you can get different perspectives and advice on how to live your life and/or run your business.

I understand that one strong motivational speaker can be empowering and inspire you to do great things, but I’d like to convince you to look around and see things from a different perspective, other people's perspectives, actually. I’d like to equate this to an MMA fighter preparing for a fight. When an MMA fighter is in the gym, that fighter prepares in various aspects of martial arts that can range from boxing, jiu-jitsu, grappling, karate, etc. With an arsenal of skills, that is much better prepared to face an opponent who may only be one dimensional or has weakness in certain martial arts that the fighter may exploit. In going back to listening to various motivational speakers, by taking the good points out of what each person says, you become more prepared and you can use it towards your daily life and/or business. By listening to only a certain motivational speaker, you limit yourself since that person might not be in the same field/area of work that you need help in. While some general advice may transfer from that speaker, not all will. Also, not everything that a specific motivational speaker says may hold true or apply to you. No one is perfect, as the old adage goes, and so isn’t all the advice of any specific motivational speaker. Each one has his or her own unique perspective that can bring value to you. Thus, to paraphrase Bruce Lee, learn to take what is useful from each speaker, discard what is useless, and create your own unique perspective on how to live your life and/or run your business with purpose and passion.

P.S. I’m sorry if some parts ramble. I am not a writer by nature and only wrote was on the top of my head. This was all unedited. Thank you!
