What alcohol would you put in your bubble tea?

I get this question all the time from that voice in my head telling me to take bubble tea to the next level, what alcohol would you pour into your bubble tea? The answer to me, it depends.

If I ordered a heavier bubble tea with milk in it, I would like for an alcohol that is richer and works well with milk. One that comes into mind is Kahlua. If I were to mix a bubble tea drink with Kahlua, I would venture into the brown sugar milk bubble tea. I think this would make a great refreshing and sweet beverage. Instead of tapioca pearls, I would substitute herbal jelly to make it a bit lighter.

If I had an order a lighter bubble tea of a fruit or just tea base, the possibilities are endless. I would start off with fruit liquor that matches the fruit of the base. For example, I would select a mango vodka to put into a mango green tea with bubbles. I would switch out the regular tapioca pearls for mango boba, and add some pudding to it. To me, that sounds like a refreshing drink you can easily get drunk off of. =)

Whether it’s milk or tea base, there are so many combinations that we could add alcohol to bubble tea to. I still haven’t seen it in mainstream, but I’m hoping someone will. In the meantime, I’ll just have to create my own concoctions in my apartment and get drunk there.

These are my opinions alone, but I would enjoy hearing what alcohol you would put into your bubble tea beverage.
